"Front Porch Days"

Sunday, August 22nd will be the last Sunday in the Front Porch Days sermon series. These worship services have been similar to walking down your favorite street when a good friend invites you up on the porch for a glass of lemonade, or a burger from the grill. It is one of those unexpected moments for getting to know each other and to reconnect with each other's life. These are moments of reflection, story telling, laughter, and true relational communion.

Jesus spent much of his ministry in these types of moments. Maybe it wasn't on a front porch, but it was in a fishing boat, or around a campfire, or in a good friend's home, or just walking along a dusty road. His disciples were formed and prepared in these unexpected moments.

Much of what we will share will make us laugh because we have been there. Some of what we say may bring a tear. All of what we do and say is meant to glorify the One who gives us the gift of every day.

Whether this is your first Sunday and you're wondering if they worship this way every week, or if you're a regular and you’re wondering why we are departing from our well worn form and style, we ask you to relax and give this worship a chance to connect to you and your faith journey.

So come and sit. Find a seat that fits you, relax, sing-a-long with old familiar hymns, listen to some great music, and listen to a good story or two. It is time to let worship move over you like the embrace of an old friend. "This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it."
